Read More	Sylvester "Vess" Parr, age 92, of Fremont, NE died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. He was born November 26, 1918 in Dodge, NE to Bernard and Margaret (Burenheide) Parr. He grew up in Dodge and married Gloria Muller September 9, 1943 in Dodge. He farmed near Dodge and at North Bend from 1963 to 1980. He moved into North Bend in 1980 and then to Fremont in 1997. Vess was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Fremont; and the Knights of Columbus #3736 in North Bend. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Dodge, and St. Charles Catholic Church at North Bend. Survivors include: wife, Gloria; sons – Richard Parr and Rodney Parr both of Fremont, NE; daughters – Sandra and husband Bob Chromy, Wanda and husband Terry Rucker, all of Fremont, NE and Carmen Kugler of North Bend, NE; brothers – Gilbert and wife Leona Parr of Fremont, NE and Ralph Parr of Schuyler, NE; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: parents, brothers – Robert, Victor, Lambert, Edwin, Clarence and Ernest; 1 grandson – Robert Chromy; 1 granddaughter – Tonya Chromy; and daughter-in-law – Peggy Parr. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 28, 2011 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. Father Dave Belt will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday 3-8 P.M. with family receiving friends 6-8 P.M. and a Vigil Service / Rosary at 7:00 P.M. all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation on Thurs. at church 1 hr prior to service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to donor's choice.
