Parr, 91 years, of Fremont, NE died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Gloria was born August 30, 1923 in Scribner, NE to Otto and Frieda (Heyden) Muller. She grew up in Scribner and was a graduate of Scribner High School. Gloria married Sylvester "Vess" B. Parr on September 9, 1943 in Dodge, NE. The couple farmed near Dodge and then at North Bend, NE from 1963 to 1980, when they moved into North Bend. Gloria worked at Birchwood Manor in North Bend for 6 years and operated a day care in her home for 23 years. They moved to Fremont in 1997. Sylvester died on July 24, 2011. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her favorite past time was playing cards. Gloria was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont and member of the Christian Mothers. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church at Dodge and St. Charles Catholic Church at North Bend and the St. Anne's Altar Society. She is survived by sons, Richard Parr of Fremont and Rodney Parr of Fremont; daughters, Sandra and husband, Bob Chromy and Wanda and husband, Terry Rucker all of Fremont and Carmen Kugler of Morse Bluff, NE; brother, Merle and wife, Mary Ann Muller of Omaha; sisters, Rodella Kirby of Dumas, TX and Bernetta Sellmeyer of Fremont;11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Wilbur, Lowell, Darwin, Robert, Devern and Larry Muller; sister, Elvira Schultz; daughter-in-law, Peggy Parr; grandson, Robert Chromy; and granddaughter, Tonya Chromy. Funeral Mass, 10 AM, Saturday, Nov. 29th, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont, NE. The Rev. Father Benjamin Boyd will officiate. Rosary, 7 PM, Friday, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation Friday 4 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont and on Saturday at church 1hr prior to service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. (mosermemorialchapels.com/obituary)
