Mrs. Lichtenberg passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at Norfolk Care and Rehabilitation Center in Norfolk. Sylvia Anita was born September 10, 1924 to her parents Ernest and Minnie (Klug) Hille in Sidney, Nebraska. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Sidney and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Sylvia attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School and graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1942. Following graduation, she worked as cashier and bookkeeper at JM McDonald’s until she married Garold Lichtenberg in 1950. They farmed near Albion until moving to Norfolk in 1979. They were members of Immanuel - Zion Lutheran Church in rural Albion and later at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Her family will fondly remember Sylvia as a gentle and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her talents included sewing, canning and making delicious pickles. She is survived by her husband Garold, sons Randy (Kelley) of Grand Junction, CO and Terry (Barbara) of Norfolk, five grandchildren, two great granddaughters, three great grandsons, and a sister Elaine Nitz of Norfolk. Sylvia was preceded in death by parents, sister and brother-in-law Lorette and Lester Drefke, sister and brother-in-law Maxine and Willard Stuckwisch, brother and sister-in-law Willard and Lucy Hille, brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Dorothy Hille, and brother-in-law Arvin Nitz.
