Description	:	Sylvia Miller, 89, of Shelton, formerly of Holstein, died Thursday, April 30, 1998 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services were Monday at the Shelton United Methodist Church. The Rev Charles Spence officiated. Burial was in the Shelton Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home of Wood River had charge of arrangements. Mrs Miller was born on December 2, 1908 at Holstein to Olaf and Martha (Jorgensen) Petersen. She grew up in Holstein and attended school there. Mrs Miller moved to the Gibbon Good Samaritan Center in 1997. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Shelton. Survivors include one daughter, Joan (Mrs Gaylor) Meyer of Shelton; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Miller of Seward and Belle Fern Nienhueser of Hastings and one brother, Woodrow Petersen of Holstein.
