Description	:	RED OAK WOMAN IS CRASH CASUALTY Funeral services were at Essex, Wednesday for Mrs. Charles Dee (Jane McComb), 26, of rural Red Oak, who died Sunday from injuries received in car accident three hours earlier. Her husband was driving the car which was struck south of Red Oak about 1:30 a.m. The service was held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Essex with the Rev. Read More	RED OAK WOMAN IS CRASH CASUALTY Funeral services were at Essex, Wednesday for Mrs. Charles Dee (Jane McComb), 26, of rural Red Oak, who died Sunday from injuries received in car accident three hours earlier. Her husband was driving the car which was struck south of Red Oak about 1:30 a.m. The service was held at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Essex with the Rev. Nile Buch of Bethesda Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Essex Cemetery. The accident injured four, including Mr and Mrs. McComb and two occupants of the other car. Cutting torches had to be used on the McComb car before the McCombs could be released from their wreckage. Both cars were completely demolished. All four were taken to the hospital in Red Oak. The three men each had leg or hip fractures and lacerations. Terry Robert Cobb of Corning was driver of the other car and Richard Silence of Carbon was owner and passenger. Cobb and Silence were taken to Iowa City for hospital care. State patrol filed charges agains Cobb for failure to yield right of way. The McCombs have two children, Tammy and Brian. Mrs. McCombs parents are Mr. and Mrs. Riley McClintock of Essex and brother Larry. Mr. McComb is grandson of Mrs. Charles Gillespie of Yorktown.
