Description	:	Tempie Dockens, 95, of Waco, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at a local care facility. Tempie was born in Jasper, Texas, to the late John and Donie Henderson. While a child, she moved with her family to Florida in a covered wagon. Seven years later, they moved to Louisiana in their Model T Ford. Tempie was born in Jasper, Texas, to the late John and Donie Henderson. While a child, she moved with her family to Florida in a covered wagon. Seven years later, they moved to Louisiana in their Model T Ford. Tempie helped tend to the other children and worked often in the fields with her Dad. She remembered helping her mother pick cotton. She married Robert Dockens on Dec. 18, 1935, in Many, La. Tempie and Robert raised two children together in the Waco area. Tempie was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Robinson. She enjoyed crocheting, working with her rose bushes, playing bingo, and doing crossword puzzles. She always enjoyed participating in activities at The Atrium of Bellmead. She especially loved to cook for her family when they could gather together. Her favorite dish was squirrel dumplings. Tempie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two infant sons; two sisters; four brothers; and a great-great-grandson, Kelvin James Mahoney. She is survived by her daughter; son; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother; and numerous nieces and nephews.
