Description	:	Teresa Thornton,45,of Central City, formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, Dec. 26,2008, at her home in Central City. Born Nov. 16,1963,in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Donald W.and Beatrice L. Smithhart Thornton. Ms.Thornton was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. She has worked on production line at Metromail and in the catering department for Dave's SuperValu,as well as the Mount Pleasant Golf and Country Club. Born Nov. 16,1963,in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Donald W.and Beatrice L. Smithhart Thornton. Ms.Thornton was employed as a certified nursing assistant at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. She also had worked at the Indian Creek Country club and Hy-Vee,both in Marion. She has lived most of her life in Mount Pleasant before moving to Central City in 2003.She was a 1983 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and earned a certified nurses' aide degree from Southeastern Community College. She was member of the Metro Harley Davidson Club in Cedar Rapids and enjoyed cooking, camping,homemaking,riding motorcycles and spending time with her affectionate dog,Harley. Survivors include her Father, her Fiance,Scott Frank of Central City and his children, Bryant Frank and Amanda Frank, both of Mount Pleasant; one son,Dustin Howell of Maryville,Mo.;two sisters, Debra Blevins of New London and Dawn Longwell of Ely; eight nieces and nephews; and one great-niece. She was preceded in death by her grandparents,her mother and one sister. The Funeral for Ms. Thornton will be at 10:30a.m. Tues., Dec.30 at Frist United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev.Pat Youngquist officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. A memorial will be established at a later date.
