Tessa was born July 4, 1922, in Lusk, Wyo., to John and Edith (Stevens) Boyd. She grew up in Morrill, was educated there and graduated from Morrill High School with the Class of 1940. She attended Scotts Bluff Junior College and then taught school at the Liberty School and at Lyman. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Colorado State College in Greeley, Colo., in 1954, and later earned her master's degree from that same institution. On July 25, 1955, she married Emanuel R. Schreiner in Scottsbluff. She and Emanuel lived and farmed south of Lyman, and Tessa taught elementary school in the Goshen County, Wyo., School District until her retirement in 1993. Her teaching career spanned over 50 years. After retirement, she moved to Morrill and had lived there since. She was a longtime member of the Church at Bryant in Scottsbluff, now the WestWay Christian Church, and was a member of both the National Education Association and the Wyoming Teachers Association. Tessa was very active in the field of education and had served numerous positions on boards and councils and had served for a time on the Lyman School Board. She had also taught children soccer at the Scottsbluff-Gering YMCA. She is survived by her son Ron B. (Joleen) Schreiner of Lyman, granddaughters Shelby Schreiner and Randee Schreiner, both of Lyman and Amy (Todd) Shepard of Gering, a step-granddaughter, Brandi (Chad) Wells of Gering, a great-granddaughter, Emily Shepard of Gering, and three sisters, Evelyn Boyd, June Williams and Dorothy (Bill) Layton, all of Gering. Her parents, husband, a son Jon, brothers Charles Boyd and John W. "Jack" Boyd, sisters Nell Plummer and Waleska Walker and an infant sister Gladys preceded her in death.
