Lemons, died Monday evening, September 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack White, south of Manhattan. Read More	Mrs. T Lemons Called To The Great Beyond Was Resident of Gallatin 51 Years; Grandmother of 21 Children Mrs. Texana Lemons, wife of the late James H. Lemons, died Monday evening, September 30, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jack White, south of Manhattan. Mrs. Lemons had been in failing health for over a year but had not been confined to her bed until about two weeks before her death. "Grandma" Lemons as she was affectionatley known to her many friends was born near Louisiana, Pike county, Missouri in 1848. She crossed the plains in 1878, making the trip in three months and three days. She and her husband located on a ranch near Gallatin Gateway where they resided until 1903, when they purchased the Joe Clark farm near Manhattan. About ten years ago they rented this farm and moved to Manhattan where Mr. Lemons died Nov. 11, 1921. Mrs. Lemons was the mother of six children, twenty-one grandchildren and one great grandchild. She leaves behind one sister, Mrs. Mattie Smith of Kanas City, Mo. and five brothers Tom and Charlie Hamlet of Middle Town, Mo., Jack Hamlet of Detroit, Mich., Lilas Hamlet of Longmount, Colo. The surviving children are, Iva G. Lemons and Mrs. J. White of Manhattan, Mrs. John Heeb, Glendale, Cal., Ira Lemons, Wilsall, Mrs. Fred Hahn, Helena, and Harvey Lemons of Livingston. She was buried Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Baptist church in Manhattan, the Rev. Atkins and Rev. Feeley reading the funeral service. A large number of her loving friends attended the funeral. Beautiful music was furnished by a choir composed of Mrs. Everett Beck, Mildrel Waters, Mr. Hart and Cecil Glover, accompanied by Mrs. E. M. Wright. The pall bearers were, George Ellington, H. Green, Bill Grover, Bob McClellen, George Townsend and L. Hays. The body was laid to rest in the Meadow View cemetery.
