This union was blessed with the birth of three children. Theda was a beautician for over 35 years, owning and operating Theda's Hair Care in Edgar. Theda had been very active in the Edgar Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Norma Melvin. Survivors include her husband Robert of Edgar, NE; son Kurt Shaw and wife Lydia of Norfolk, NE; daughter Cathy Mehrens and husband David of Joplin, MO; Theresa Schneider and husband Randy of Edgar, NE; foster daughter Debby Hankins and husband Joe of Clay Center, NE; brother Norland "Red" Melvin and wife Carol of Nelson, NE; sister Janet Turner and husband Richard of Marysville, KS; nine grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 8, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Edgar, NE. Pastor David King officiated with burial in the Edgar Cemetery.
