Description	:	Jane A. Armstrong, 83, of Greenville, passed away on Jan. 22, 2014. She was born as Thelma Jane Armstrong on Jan.17, 1931, in Head Waters, the daughter of the late Blair Armstrong and Hester Grace Simmons Armstrong. She was one of nine children who lived to adulthood. She is survived by her son, Michael Brent Armstrong, his wife Brenda of Morgantown, W.Va., and his daughter, Erin, and step-daughter, Emily; and a daughter Gwen Doyle, and her husband Steve, of Greenville, and their sons, Brian and Adam, and their wives, Melissa and Laura, respectively. She was one of nine children who lived to adulthood. She is survived by her son, Michael Brent Armstrong, his wife Brenda of Morgantown, W.Va., and his daughter, Erin, and step-daughter, Emily; and a daughter Gwen Doyle, and her husband Steve, of Greenville, and their sons, Brian and Adam, and their wives, Melissa and Laura, respectively. She also had three great-grandchildren, Ivy-Jane, Tristen, and Ella Doyle. She is also survived by two older sisters, Pearl McCray of McDowell, and Audrey Corbett of Monterey; and a younger brother, Charlie Armstrong, and his wife Belle, of Head Waters. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Of these, she had special relationships with two of her nieces, Frances McCray Bird of Cypress, Texas, and Jill Armstrong Lightner of Head Waters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Wayne, Gene, Waldo "Doe," Stover, and Frankie. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her children very much, and as a mom, she was the best. She made several trips to Florida and Virginia Beach with her grandchildren. Published in The Recorder
