Description	:	Theodore Albert Aldag was born December 29, 1915, the son of Henry and Louise Marth Aldag. He died on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three. Theo was born on the family farm "80" in Ida County, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ on February 20, 1916, and confirmed on March 20, 1932, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grant Township, Ida Grove, Iowa. He died on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three. Theo was born on the family farm "80" in Ida County, Iowa. He was baptized in Christ on February 20, 1916, and confirmed on March 20, 1932, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grant Township, Ida Grove, Iowa. He received his education at Hayes #9 Ida County School. On May 16, 1938, Theo was united in marriage to Leona Schultz at the Lutheran parsonage in Carroll, Iowa. The couple made their home on the family farm and was blessed with the birth of three children. In 1970 the couple retired from farming and moved to Schleswig. Theo entered Eventide Lutheran Home in April 2008. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was engaged in farming, hog and cattle raising, and joint ownership in Feeders Supply Service Inc. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and having coffee with the guys at Farmers Feed & Grain in Schleswig. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig where he served as Sunday school superintendent, president of the congregation, elder and trustee, and a member of the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He served as director of Hayes #8 School for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leona; one daughter-in-law, Lorna Aldag; one son-in-law, John Winsor; one sister, Edna Gronau; three brothers: Walter, Louis and Vernis; Survivors include: two daughters: Janice; and JoAnn and her husband, Larry; one son, James; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 14, 2009, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Schleswig. Rev. Merle Mahnken officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Marlene Hight provided the organ accompaniment for congregational hymns "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me," "Jesus Lives! The Victory’s Won," and "I’m But A Stranger Here." Those serving as pallbearers were: Jeannie Giddings, Grant Clausen, Gerrad Clausen, Jennifer Kolar, Greg Clausen, Travis Aldag, Toni Meyers, Troy Aldag and Beth Smith. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the church served by the Ladies Aid. The Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig was in charge of arrangements.
