Born in Philadelphia on March 12, 1926, Ted was the eldest of three sons of Theodore and Elizabeth Greczyn. Born in Philadelphia on March 12, 1926, Ted was the eldest of three sons of Theodore and Elizabeth Greczyn. After the family moved to Hightstown, NJ, Ted became a Boy Scout, advancing to the rank of Eagle Scout in the Spring of 1942. He remained active in scouting through adulthood, receiving the Silver Beaver Award and earning his Wood Badge. Upon turning 17 in 1943, Ted joined the Navy, serving as a signalman aboard an LST. His tour of duty took him to the Mediterranean and ultimately, Portsmouth, England, with his LST 75 participating on D-Day at Omaha Beach and over 30 subsequent crossings. After being honorably discharged, Ted returned to complete high school and began working at the family-owned gas station in Hightstown, NJ. He met his future wife, Elizabeth Beth Shivers, from Cranbury, and they married in September 1950. Ted began his sales career with the Paper Mate/Gillette Company in 1959 that transferred the family to Palatine, IL, in 1969 and, eight months later, to Northern California. Ted traveled extensively throughout his career as a salesman for several companies and was promoted to the level of national sales manager when his job brought the family back to New Jersey in 1981. Retiring to Elizabeth City, NC, in 1997, Ted and Beth enjoyed the warmer climate and in 2004 moved inland to Aberdeen, closer to his brother, Robert, and wife Anna. In the spring of 2010, Ted and Beth moved to Northern California to be closer to their two daughters. Ted was preceded in death by his youngest brother, Walter, and his wife, Marion, of Cranbury, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beth; his three children, son, Theodore Greczyn III (Wilma), and daughters, Barbara Miller and Amy Greczyn; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert (Anna); cousin, June Rizzo, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will held later this year in New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Boy Scouts of America or the Alzheimer's Association.
