McCord suffered a paralytic stroke in March 31, which left him helpless, then a second stroke took him again on the 8th of August, 1932, and the final stroke came on January 9 1933. The late Mr McCord was born in Wall..kill, Orange County, N.Y. in the year 1859 on the 19th day of November. When the pioneering movement was on in the early 80s he moved to Towner, North Dakota where he engaged in the ranching before the railroads came in. In the year 1898 he married Miss Anna M Inkster, a niece of Sherriff Inkster of Winnipeg, Manitoba and continued their residence on the old ranch until their immigration to Alberta in December 1905, landing at Claresholm, where they lived until the next spring when they homesteaded near Barons. He resided from that time on at the homestead until death overtook him at 1:30 am on Monday January 9th at the age of 73 years and 2 months. There were no children from this union. He leaves to mourn his loss his widow, Mrs Anna M McCord, one brother, William, at Long Island, NY, a sister, Miss M McCord of Jersey City, NJ and another sister, Mrs J.M. DeGroff of Granville, NY. The late Mr McCord was well liked by all who knew him, and especially by those who had dealings with him, as he was a man always fair and honest with his fellow men. He was a member of the Christian Church. Funeral services were held in the United Church, Claresholm, on Friday afternoon Jan 13 with Rev Cobb of Bowville Valley, Carmangay district, together Rev R.W. Dalgleish, conducting the services. Interment was made in the Claresholm cemetery. George W Ringrose had charge of the funeral arrangements. The pallbearers were Will Olivsen, Charles Dick, Harry Shearer, Herbert Irwin; J.P.
