Read More	Omaha World-Herald Saturday, Oct 31, 1908 Omaha, NE Page 4 Theodore De Vry Dead He Was a Merchant in Omaha from 1869 to 1872 St. Paul, Neb., Oct 30.--Theodore DeVry, a Howard county pioneer died at his home in St. Paul yesterday. He was 86 years of age. Mr. DeVry came to the United States from Germany in 1857, with his family and located at Harisburg, Pa., where he was engaged in the mercantile business until in 1869, when he removed to Omaha, where he resumed mercantile life at Sixteenth and Farnam streets, remaining there until April, 1872, when he removed with his family to a homestead which he had located near St. Paul. Here he engaged in the manufacture of brick which business he prosecuted until 1892, when he retired from active business and in October, 1901, removed to St. Paul, where he had since made his home. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Louisa DeVry, Cyrus DeVry of Chicago, Theodore N, Frank and Nicholas, living in St. Paul, and Mrs. G. E. Barrett of Denver.
