Thompson Road, Indianapolis, IN 46227. Mr. Slutts was born Aug. 17, 1912, near Douds, the son of Samuel N. and Martha Crane Slutts. He married Mary Margaret Moore. She died Aug. 6, 2006. Mr. Slutts graduated from Douds-Leando High School. He was employed at Douds Quarry and retired from the position of supervisor at John Deere Ottumwa Works. He was a member of Hagerman Baptist Church in Waterloo and most recently Thompson Road Baptist Church. Survivors include four children, Mary Ann Wilson and husband Tom of Lilburn, Ga., Nancy Rollins and husband John of Waterloo, Anthony Slutz and wife Ellen of Indianapolis, Ind., and Carol Rudkin and husband Bob of Boese, Idaho; 11 grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Teddy; his parents, one brother, Albert; and two sisters, Rosa Mae Slutts and Della Hill.
