Description	:	Theodore Willis Roper, son of Theodore and Rhoda Kelley Roper, was born near Daykin, Neb., July 24, 1890. He, with his parents and other brothers and sisters, lived on a farm for several years in the Daykin community. He was united in marriage to Ella M. Goodman November 6, 1912. They settled on a farm near Alexandria, Neb. This home was blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. He was a devoted husband and father. Read More	Theodore Willis Roper, son of Theodore and Rhoda Kelley Roper, was born near Daykin, Neb., July 24, 1890. He, with his parents and other brothers and sisters, lived on a farm for several years in the Daykin community. He was united in marriage to Ella M. Goodman November 6, 1912. They settled on a farm near Alexandria, Neb. This home was blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. He was a devoted husband and father. Mr. Roper passed away March 4, 1957, at the York hospital after an extended period of ill health. Mr. Roper spent most of his years in Fairmont as a mechanic, being with the George W. Porter Implement Co. many years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Ella Roper, one son, Lyle, of Council Bluffs, Ia., one daughter, Mrs. Leoris Werner of Crete, four grandchildren, Jerry and Keith Werner and Robert and Sonja Roper; also three brothers, Charles of Pasco, Washington, Vernon of Denver, Colorado and Curtis of Fairmont; three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Foreny of Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs. Pearl Wyatt of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Mrs. Alice Brown of Presho, S.D. Preceding him in death were four brothers. He leaves many friends and neighbors whom he enjoyed very much. Funeral services were held at the Fairmont Federated Church March 7 with Rev. Willard Payne officiating. Oliver Moul, accompanied by Janet Bridgman, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The End of a Perfect Day." Pallbearers were Eugene Hoarty, Francis Schepers, Everett Nichols, Leo Bures, Ralph Keil and Francis McMahon. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery. Graveside services were conducted by I.O.O.F.
