Chris Kadrmas officiating. Burial will be in Glencoe Cemetery, rural Emmons County. Theresa Helen Welch was born April 1, 1930, in Lemmon, S.D., the daughter of Henry and Leona (Tracy) Gaugler. She attended schools in rural Grant County and New Leipzig. She graduated from Elgin High School in 1947 and received a secretarial certificate from Bismarck Junior College. She worked at the Pontiac garage in Bismarck and the Mandan Hospital. On Oct. 10, 1950, she married Donald J. Welch at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan. They lived in rural Menoken on Donald's father's farm until they purchased their own farm southwest of his father's, where they still reside. She loved to crochet, knit, textile paint, sew and did several other crafts. She always had a huge garden, canning many quarts of vegetables to be used by her family. She also raised and sold several types of poultry over the years. Theresa was a member of Burleigh County Homemakers Club for many years and was active in St. Hildegard's Circle as well as her craft club. She is survived by her husband of 55 years; three daughters, Cynthia (Howard) Jacquart, Levan, Utah, Marilyn (Marc) Jensen, Hannover, and Nancy Sandmeier, Salina, Kan.; two sons, Ralph B., Hazelton, and Donald "Dan" (Mary), Bismarck; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Patrica Schmitz and Frances Schmitz, both of Elgin, Bernice Dubois, Henderson, Nev., and Kathleen Dawson, Coatsville, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Toni Gaugler, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Genevieve Kahl; her brother, Joseph Gaugler; four brothers-in-law, Paul Kahl, Raymond Schmitz, Lyle Schmitz and Thomas Dawson; and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl (Mount) Welch.
