Bernard Jacobsmeier, of Riverside,, a son of the deceased, officiating. ________________________________________________________ Jacobsmeier The funeral of the late, Mrs. Theresa Jacobsmeier of near Houghton was held Wednesday moring, April 1, at 10 o'clock at St; John's church at Houghton. The bereaved priestly son, the Rev. Father B. Jacobsmeier of Riverside, Iowa was the celebrant of the solemn requiem mass; Very Rev. F. W. Hoppman of Ottumwa, decan; Rev. Kottenstelle of Hills, sub –deacon, Rev. Peter Hoffman of Fort Madison, master of ceremonies. The sermon, a touching and religious tribute, in German, was delivered by Rev. A. J. Zaiser of Fort Madison. The services were largely attended by relatives and friends. Among the priest present in, the sanctuary besides the bereaved son were; Rev. A. J. Zaiser, Rev. Peter Kern, Rev. P. Hoffman, Rev. B. Decker, all of Fort Madison, Rev. Peter Stall of Richmond, Rev. F. W. Hoppman and Rev. J. W. Bulger of Ottumwa, Rev. M. N. O'Laughlin of Mt. Pleasant, Rev. J. N. Adam of Houghton. Those attending the funeral from a distance were; Mr. and Mrs. John Lemmer of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Garhard Sanders and family, Miss Mary Nacke, and Wn. Schneider of Fort Madison, Ben Sanders, Jos. Nacke, Henry Kempker, Herman Budke, Herman Kaltefleiter, Mrs. Mary Pomberg, Jos. And Wm. Vonderhaar, Henry Schuette, all of West Point, Frank and Bernard Metz of Emporia, Kansas, and Mrs. Kampmeier and daughters of Burlington.
