Description	:	Miss Theresa Diez was born in County Saaz, Bohemia, January 23, 1865. She came to American with her parents in March 1871. They journeyed to Knox County, where they settled on a farm ten miles northwest of Verdigre, known as Dukeville, being a post office in the early days. On October 15, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. E.L. Pischel. This union was blessed with twelve children, eleven of which survive. She was a woman of commendable qualities. Read More	Miss Theresa Diez was born in County Saaz, Bohemia, January 23, 1865. She came to American with her parents in March 1871. They journeyed to Knox County, where they settled on a farm ten miles northwest of Verdigre, known as Dukeville, being a post office in the early days. On October 15, 1884, she was united in marriage to Mr. E.L. Pischel. This union was blessed with twelve children, eleven of which survive. She was a woman of commendable qualities. Her loving self sacrificing devotion to her home and family and her kindly attitude and friendship to those beyond the family circle, endeared her to all who came to know her. On Monday, May 23, while she was attending to her duties about the home, she was stricken with paralysis at 9 o'clock from which she never regained consciousness. With all that medical attention and the care of loved ones, she passed to the Great Beyond, Tuesday, May 24th at the age of 62 years, 4 months and one day. She is survived by her husband, six sons, Anton, Otto, Walter, Frank, Arthur and William and four daughters, Mrs. Albert Barta, Mrs. S.W. Berg, Marie and Helen; four brothers, Wenzel, Frank, Joseph and Carl. Funeral services were held at the home of the deceased in Pischelville, Thursday, May 26th at 1:00. The Reverend Nye of Spencer conducted the services and the choir from Niobrara sang. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The attendance was the largest ever witnessed in that part of the country. Burial was made in the ZCBJ Cemetery at Pischelville.
