Mac was born on May 29, 1920, in Geneva, Fillmore County, Nebraska, to James Peter McCollough (an Electrician at the City Plant) and Josephine J. (Curley) McCollough. Mac married Berniece Hyde on Oct. 29, 1942, in the First Christian Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As they began their new life together, there also began a succession of moves through seven Western states. Theron was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as a civil engineer for the construction of dams, power plants and irrigation works, and this meant many adventures to come. The family hunted, fished and camped together in Colorado, Montana and Washington. Before Berniece's passing, they celebrated 55 years of marriage. He is survived by his son, Theron R. "Mac" McCollough Jr. and wife Kathy and their two children, Theron R. III and Jessica, all of Spokane, WA; his daughter, Martha White and her husband Gary and their two sons, Shawn and Ryan, all of Battle Ground, WA; a daughter-in-law, Gloria McCollough and her two daughters, Kelli and Katie, all of Royal City, WA. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his son, Scott Douglas McCollough, Page High School Class of 1967. Arrangements by Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel.
