Description	:	THOMAS A CRAWFORD Thomas Allen Crawford, 82, Valley Falls, died Jan. 12 at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Crawford was born Oct. 25, 1910, at Lincoln, the son of Claude L. Crawford and Carrie Nevada Wolfkiel. He attended grade and high school at Lincoln and graduated in 1932. Mr. Crawford was born Oct. 25, 1910, at Lincoln, the son of Claude L. Crawford and Carrie Nevada Wolfkiel. He attended grade and high school at Lincoln and graduated in 1932. He attended Moler Barber College in Kansas City and worked in a barber shop in Lincoln before moving to Valley Falls in 1940. He barbered in Valley Falls many years. He worked for the Kansas Highway Commission as a storekeeper for six months. He worked 3 1/2 years as storekeeper No. 2 for Kansas Neurological Institute in Topeka. He retired in 1973. Mr. Crawford was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Valley Falls. He was a charter member of Grahem-Herbers Posts No. 3084 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Valley Falls. He was a coin collector for over 50 years and made jewelry from coins. Mr. Crawford was a World War II veteran. He entered the Army in July 1943. He was married to Alma M. Smith Jan. 1, 1939. She survives. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Judith Ann Moore, Shawnee, and Joan M. Crawford, Orange, Calif.; one son, James T. Crawford, McLouth; and five grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Nellis Funeral Home, Valley Falls, with visitation to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Valley Falls. Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Grahem-Herbers Posts No. 3084 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Valley Falls. The Valley Falls Vindicator 14 Jan 1993 Pg 5 cl 5
