He came to Americus from Scotch Grove, Iowa, in 1859. He was married to Miss Millie McCaw in 1862. He is survived by Mrs. Anderson and their eight children, Mrs. Emma Prescott, of Alta Vista, Kan.; Mrs. Luoie (sic) Munsey, Ogden, Utah; Grant W. Anderson, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Grace Bassett, Oakland, Calif.; Harvey R. Anderson, Ossette, Mont.; George M. Anderson, Ella M. Anderson, and Harry C. Anderson, Americus. There are four brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Brown, Americus; Miss Grace E. Anderson, Olympia, Wash.; W. H. Anderson, Guthrie, Okla.; J. A. Anderson, Spokane, Wash.; Alexander Anderson, Alberta, Canada; John C. Anderson, Timberline Lake, S. Dak. He also is survived by thirteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Anderson enlisted in Company E, Eleventh Kansas Cavalry in February, 1864, and was a member of the G.A.R. He also was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Americus. The funeral services were held at the home, two miles northwest of Americus, conducted by Rev. C. H. Mitchell, pastor of the Americus United Presbyterian Church, yesterday afternoon. Interment was made in the Americus Cemetery. The pall-bearers were William Grimsley, Elias Moorhead, Frank Hawkins, William Simmons, G. W. Fry and J. W. Anderson. (Obit contributed by Becky Doan)
