DEATH OF THOMAS BARCLAY Thomas Barclay, a pioneer resident of Cedar county passed away at 10:45 o'clock, May 26, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.F. Port, four miles north of Wilton. He was 80 years at the time of his death. Mr. Barclay had been in failing health for the past year suffering from heart trouble as well as the usual ailments of old age. He was born in Franklin county, Penn., in 1835. In 1853 he came to Cedar county where he settled and where he resided during the greater part of his life. In his later years he made his home with his children. He had been residing at the Port home for about three months previous to his death. The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Port and Mrs. J.C. Kingery of Bethany, MO., by two sons, Joseph, of Muscatine county, and John of Manchester, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. James Fulwider of Tipton, and Mrs. Anna Ridenour of Tipton and Mrs. Ellen Catleberry of Savannah, IL, and by two brothers, George of Ida Grove and Frank of Tipton.
