Millard, 52, of 720 S. Ray St., was found dead at his home Monday morning. Death was due to natural causes, according to the acting medical examiner, Dr. Kenneth Lister. A machinist by trade, he was born Aug. 24, 1918, the son of Ivan V. and Ellen Schmidt Millard. He was a lifetime resident of Ottumwa. He was married to Martha S. Nevins in August of 1945 in Lancaster, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Tommy Lee and Tony Allen Millard, both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Jill Smith of Hedrick and Mrs. Jeannette Bazu of Chicago; two grandchildren; his father, Ivan V. Millard of Ottumwa; two brothers, Bruce and Vernon Millard, both of Ottumwa; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Lennon of Savanna, Ill., Mrs. Anna Hagan of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Ellen Fleener of Des Moines, and Mrs. Donna Huff and Mrs. Evelyn Poncy, both of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his mother and one sister. Funeral services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. A.D. Pringle of Ottumwa Baptist Temple officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Rupe, John Benge, Bill Hannam, Bob Stufflebeam, Phil Millard Jr. and Larry Bauchman.
