Read More	Thomas Crone Obit Thomas Crone was born in Clinton, Iowa August 27, 1865,and departed this life July 12, 1938 at the age of 72 years, 10 months, 16 days. As a young boy he came with his parents Joseph and Lydia Crone to Nebraska where they made their home on a -farm near Beaver Grossing. In 1892 he married Emma Michael of Beaver Crossing and to them were born two daughters, Flossie and Margaret. As a young man he learned the carpenter trade and spent his life working as a carpenter and contract or in this vicinity. At the time of his death he was working on a project in the Beaver Crossing Park. He was working in the pavilion. In early life he became affiliated with the Beaver Crossing Evangelical church. Thomas Crone was a good citizen vitally interested in the growth and progress of his community, a true and sincere friend, and a devoted husband -and father. He leaves to mourn: his wife Emma Jean; two daughters, Mrs. B. H. Cross of Nampa,' Idaho, and Margaret La Verne, at home; two grandsons; Gerald Cross of Holdrege, Nebraska, and St. Elmo Cross of McCook, Nebraska; two great grandchildren, Sandra Lee and Roger Dean Cross; one sister Anna Mary Smith of Beaver Crossing; three brothers, William Wilson of Los Angeles, California, James Marion of Lincoln, Nebr. and George Oren of Friend, Nebr. A sister, Martha, and a brother Archie, preceded him in death. With these he leaves a host of close friends and neighbors. Funeral services Were held in the Methodist church, in Beaver Crossing, July 14, 1938; at 2:30 PM. Rev. H. C. McClellan, assisted by Rev. Walter Lenz, conducted the services. Interment was in the Beaver Crossing cemetery. The pallbearers were Chris Clem, Ben Peck, Sam Clark, Sid Ransom, Fred Ross, Henry Orth.
