Description	:	Tom Curtis, well known pioneer of this valley, passed away in Bozeman, September 9th, of a heart attack. He was born May 14, 1890 near Manhattan to W. W. Curtis and Anabelle Cole. He married Fern Barrett, January 15, 1913 in Bozeman and she preceded him in death August 24, 1954. The family came to this valley in 1864 and he was a member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers of Gallatin County. The family came to this valley in 1864 and he was a member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pioneers of Gallatin County. He is survived by two sons, Wallace Curtis of Rupert, Idaho and Wilbur Curtis of Belgrade; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Cook of Bozeman and Mrs. Helen Miller, Belgrade; one brother, Clyde Curtis of Bozeman and five sisters: Mrs. Tom Campbell, Mrs. Irene McQuaid, Mrs. Charles Ballard and Mrs. Sam Bly of Manhattan, and Mrs. Charles Sales of Gallatin Gateway. Eleven grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service was held Monday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m. at the Dahl Funeral Home in Bozeman with Rev. Paul B. McCleave, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. The organist was Mrs. Richard Smiley who accompanied Mrs. Henry Moore as she sang, "Beyond The Sunset" and "Sweet Hour of Prayer". Pallbearers were Wm. Decker, N. O. Otheim, Ira Verwolf, Louis Kurskensky, Walt Hanna, and Mark Keil. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Skinner, Steve Miller, Ed Iverson, Frank Herdina, Arie TeSelle and Jack Woods. Burial was in the Meadowview Cemetery. Published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle
