Description : Thomas was the oldest of seven children and took care of his parents until their death. His father Anthony died August 8, 1904,and his mother Catherine Bridget Welsh died August 8, 1906. From the time his mother died in March 3,1906,until his marriage to Gertrude Elder on August 20,1906, he had changed his name from Dorsey to Darcey. The wedding license dates substantiates the name change. His extended family maintained the Dorsey name and still do today.
