Mr Posegate was born in Indiana August twenty-seventh, 1833, being at the time of his death, 78 years, 2 months and 21 days. The most of his life was spent in Story county, he being one of the early settlers. Mr Posegate was born in Indiana August twenty-seventh, 1833, being at the time of his death, 78 years, 2 months and 21 days. The most of his life was spent in Story county, he being one of the early settlers. Funeral services were held at the Kelley church at one o'clock Friday afternoon and interment made in the cemetery at Ames. Rev W.J. Minchin conducted the services at Kelley, the music being furnished by a male quartette from Ames, Messrs Doggett, J.B. Kooser and Mr George Miller. The flowers were beautiful and in great profusion. Those present from out-of-town were Mrs Wesley Parriott, a daughter from western Nebraska; Mr. Luke Parriott, a grandson from Shell Rock, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Craig of Ontario, Mrs Craig and a sister of Mrs Posegate; Mr. George Posegate, the oldest son from Des Moines; Mrs Eli Posegate, a son and his wife, from west of Ames; two married daughters and their families, Mrs Rosenfeld, Mrs Clyde Swerley, Mr. and Mrs. John Doggett and Mr Dan.
