The Topeka Daily Capital Monday April 4, 1966 Thomas McDade Dies at Age of 71. Thomas Francis McDade, 71, died Sunday in a Topeka hospital after a short illness. He was born May 7, 1894 in Topeka and spent most of his life in Topeka. He was a veteran of World War I. He worked for Santa Fe Railway 47 years before retired June 1, 1960. He was a conductor. He was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, Jawhawk Barracks No. 1113 and the Brotherhood of Railwasy Trainmen No. 48. Survivors include his wife, Mrs Genevieve Schuler McDade, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Alcide W J Landry; a sister, Mrs Margaret Melchoir; two brothers, Henry McDade, and Dan McDade; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 9 a m Tuesday at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr McDade will lie in state from 9 a m to 9 p m today at Hack-McMichael Memorial Home where rosaries will be recited by St Francis Circle at 7:15 p m by Assumption Altar Society at 7:30 p m and by the parish at 8 p m today.
