Description	:	THOMAS HARRISON NOBLE (1827 - 1905 ) - Obituary THomas Harrison Noble was born in Howard, Missouri, October 13, 1827. He came with his wife to Jefferson County, Kansas, and settled near the Northwestern depot, as now located. Thirteen men and families, all from Missouri, built cabins on their claims in 13 days. They also cut 13 stacks of hay in the same time. He lived in Platte County, Missouri before coming to Kansas. He came to Kansas in the autumn of 1854. Read More	THOMAS HARRISON NOBLE (1827 - 1905 ) - Obituary THomas Harrison Noble was born in Howard, Missouri, October 13, 1827. He came with his wife to Jefferson County, Kansas, and settled near the Northwestern depot, as now located. Thirteen men and families, all from Missouri, built cabins on their claims in 13 days. They also cut 13 stacks of hay in the same time. He lived in Platte County, Missouri before coming to Kansas. He came to Kansas in the autumn of 1854. He was married to Rhoda Jane Trapp on March 4, 1852. He was one of the founders of Oskaloosa, Kansas. He conducted a store and hotel in the early days. He united with the Presbyterian Church on December 21, 1872 during the first pastor's, Rev. Mr. Irvin's, time. He held city offices and was mayor of the city of Oskaloosa. He was a militiamen and was in the battle of Hickory Point, in Jefferson county. There were eight children, three of whom died in infancy, and five were present at the funeral. He died November 28, 1905, aged 78 years. He was buried Thanksgiving day, November 30, 1905. "Blest are the dead which die in the Lord."
