| Description | : | Thomas married 1857 Mary Barker, daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Cox. Thomas and Mary were married at the Holly Spring Meeting. Thomas was a prosperous farmer. On 10-19-1862 he was taken by force by the Confederate Home Guard to serve in the Civil War. At the battle of Gettysburg, Thomas, his brother, Jacob and his two brothers-in-law, Cyrus and Nathan Barker would not fight because of their Quaker faith.
