Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at the church, where there will be a wake service at 2:30 p.m. The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque, is in charge of arrangements. He was born on April 1, 1941, on the family farm west of Bellevue, son of Cletus and Clara (Till) Sieverding . He graduated from Marquette High School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Darlene Steines on April 20, 1963, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Springbrook. Tom purchased a farm in 1963, where he truly found his passion, planting, harvesting, milking and feeding his livestock, right up to the very moment God called him home. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue, Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council 1354 and was an active member of the Jackson County Garden Pullers Association. He loved garden tractor pulling with his sons and nephews. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. His greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandkids. Everywhere the polka band would play, you could bet Tom would be there. He will always be remembered for his kind gentle heart and his helping hands for anyone who was in need. Tom and Darlene were blessed with four children, Marty, of Bellevue, Deb (Mike) Nemmers, of La Motte, Daryl (Courtney), of Bellevue, and Brad (Amie) of St. Catherine's. He had a soft spot in his heart for his grandchildren, whom he loved to snuggle and tease. His face beamed with joy when he spoke of Theresa, Travis, Ben, Victoria, Averie, Irelynd, Emma, Devon, Eric and Jeremy. He also will be missed by his brothers and sisters, Marilyn (Virtus) Clasen, Alice Kilburg, Cletus (Betty), Lorin (Donna), Dave (Norma), Glenn (Shirley), Don (Darla), Dan (Mary) and Mark (Sherri); and his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Merrice (Phyllis) Steines, Gwendola Till, Harold and Iona Koppes, Dick and Betty Fleege, Roger and Jan Steines, Marlene Steines, Celma and Bob Michels, Bonnie Charbaneau, Mary Jo and Gary Beohm, Larry and Patty Steines, Sr. Shirley Steines, SSND and MaDonna and Joe McCloy. He was loved and also will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Tom was greeted at the gates of heaven by his parents; a sister, Karen; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Sieverding; and brothers-in-law, Lorin Kilburg, Merlin Till and Ray Charbaneau.
