Description	:	Following a lingering illness Thomas J. Healey died July 11 in an Omaha hospital and was buried in the St. Ludger cemetery in Creighton July 15. Mr. Healey was born in Scranton, Penn. May 15, 1875* and at the age of two years came with his parents to Knox county, residing on a homestead near Winnetoon. In 1904 at the death of his father, he assumed full charge of the farming and continued operating it until 1910 at which time he with his mother, removed to Creighton, where he continuously resided, first on a acreage tract in the south part of town... Read More	Following a lingering illness Thomas J. Healey died July 11 in an Omaha hospital and was buried in the St. Ludger cemetery in Creighton July 15. Mr. Healey was born in Scranton, Penn. May 15, 1875* and at the age of two years came with his parents to Knox county, residing on a homestead near Winnetoon. In 1904 at the death of his father, he assumed full charge of the farming and continued operating it until 1910 at which time he with his mother, removed to Creighton, where he continuously resided, first on a acreage tract in the south part of town and later in the commodious and more centrally located residence. In 1910 he with his brother E.J. entered the hardware business, which was later disposed of and in 1918 the enterprise was again established with which he was associated up to the time of his illness and death. The deceased was a friend of his every acquaintance, a man with a generous disposition, always ready and willing to render assistance to those in need. His quiet and unassuming disposition was such as to retain the every friendship acquired and with a sincerity and unostentation. Throughout his life time, his devotion to his mother was most commendable, a virtue to be emulated by others. Surviving relatives are: Mrs. Mary Healey, the mother, of Creighton; E.J. Healey, Creighton; M.J. Healey, Omaha; Patrick Healey, Blair; the brothers. Mrs. Agnes Scully, Sioux City and Mrs. John Roberts, Sheridan, Wyo.; the sisters. Included out of town relatives attending the funeral were William Sullivan of Butte, Mont. and Sister Rosinda of Winstead, Minn. The funeral services were held from the Catholic church Saturday morning and a big crowd of friends were in attendance to pay final respect and honor to the deceased. Father Windolph's address at the conclusion of the requiem mass was one in which he depicted the noble life of the deceased, who bestowed such filial devotion to the aged mother, who survives. "Tom" as he was so familiarly known will be severely missed not alone by the lonely and sickly aged mother, not only by the relatives, who mourn his death, but by everyone with whom he associated throughout his life time.
