The Commissioners of Fayette County, IN granted him a license to vend merchandise, keep a tavern and sell liquor. He purchased land in Fayette County, IN in 1821, 1822 and 1831. Thomas J. Larimore built... Read More	Thomas J. Larimore was listed as a Justice of the Peace in Fayette County, IN in 1820 and had a place of business in Everton from the beginning of the village until 1840. The Commissioners of Fayette County, IN granted him a license to vend merchandise, keep a tavern and sell liquor. He purchased land in Fayette County, IN in 1821, 1822 and 1831. Thomas J. Larimore and Miles H. Larimore (his brother) were granted a license as merchants. In 1829, Thomas J. Larimore was listed on the Fayette County Indiana Taxpayer list. In 1832, Thomas J. Larimore built a mill on the Little Flat Rock River near the town of Milroy in Rush County, Indiana. About 1835 he was in the general merchandising business in Milroy, succeeding Nathan Julian, the first merchant in town. He took in his son-in-law, John Corbin, as a partner, and later, Harvy Hedrick. He was listed as a miller on the 1850 District 97, Rush, Indiana, USA Census, Family number 259. Thomas had a total of fifteen children. He had nine children with his first wife, Nancy Agnes Wright: James Wright, Thomas Logan Douglas, Mary, Margaret Wilson, Joseph Ambrose, Isbell, Jane, Sarah and Elizabeth. He had one child with his second wife, Elizabeth Marsh: Garret Sagustus. He had five children with his third wife, Mahala Hill (Thompson): Nancy Olive, Virginia O. Melville, Josephine Allis, William Thompson, and Frances Mary. Thomas Jamison Larimore died Sep 22, 1852 in Rush County, Indiana [The death year on his tombstone is wrong. It was transcribed from 1852 to 1825. Obviously wrong since he was listed in many records after 1925. His actual 1852 death date is listed in the book: Rush Co IN Early Cemetery Records prior to 1886.]
