Description	:	Thomas K. Armstrong, in consequence of a severe stroke of paralysis, passed away Sunday noon, July 7, 1918 at his home in Mound City, Missouri, at the age of 66 years, and 3 months. He was born in Woodbury, Illinois, April 7, 1852. In 1880, Mr. Armstrong moved to Villisca and was married July 6, 1887 to Miss Melissa Spargur of this city. Armstrong, in consequence of a severe stroke of paralysis, passed away Sunday noon, July 7, 1918 at his home in Mound City, Missouri, at the age of 66 years, and 3 months. He was born in Woodbury, Illinois, April 7, 1852. In 1880, Mr. Armstrong moved to Villisca and was married July 6, 1887 to Miss Melissa Spargur of this city. He was in the employ of the Burlington railroad until a middle aged man, when he and his wife moved to Mound City, where he was proprietor of a restaurant until his death. Mr. Armstrong was a member of the Christian Church, belonged to the Knights of Phythins Lodge, and was a charter member of the Modern Woodmen of the World in Mound City. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and three sisters, Mrs. H. C. Jones of Jacksonville, Illinois; Mrs. Frank Barnett of Morrisville, Illinois, and Mrs. Nathan Miller of Alton, Illinois, besides many friends and distant relatives. Short funeral services were held at the Armstrong home in Mound City at 4:30 p.m. Monday. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Smith and Mrs. N. W. Spargur of this city and the wife accompanied the body to Villisca. Funeral services were held here Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. at the F. P. Spargur home on East Fifth Street. The body was interred in the Villisca Cemetery. Re.v E. S. Menoher officiating.
