THE ONAGA HERALD 10 DEC 1942 OBITUARY Thomas Leonard Barker was born at Kelly, Kansas, Dec. 25, 1881 and died at his home near Havensvile, Nov. 28, 1942. On Sept. 8, 1914 he was married to Nora Taylor. To this union four children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mrs Barker passed away June 11, 1940. In 1941 Mr. Barker was married to Philena Holmgren. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Francis of Wheatridge, Colo., and Leonard of Havensville; one daughter, Mrs. Edward Jansen, Manhattan, Kan.; three step daughers, Mrs Alice Bonjour, Onaga, Mrs Bessie Barker, Havensville, Mrs Delpha McKinney, Kansas City, Mo.; two step sons, John Holmgren of the home and Norman Taylor of Californina; three brothers, Lew and Dale Barker of Humbolt, Neb., and August Barker of Venice, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs Ruth Ford of Oregon and Mrs Junie Hale, Galveston, Tex.; three grandchildren and other relatives. Mr. Barker was converted about 19 years ago and was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene at Goff. He lived a sincere, humble christian life whose influence has been a blessing to many. In the home he was a kind and devoted husband and father. He was loved and respected by his neighbors and many friends. Funeral services were held at the America City church, Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 1, in charge of Miss Ruth Campbell. Music by Rev. and Mrs Gardner. Interment in the America City cem.
