He was 30 years, 6 months and 1 day of age at the time of his death. Thomas Lester White, son of Thomas and Emma White, was born near Hamlin, Audubon Co., Iowa, September 10, 1906. He came to Woodbury County with his parents as a boy in 1914 and at age fifteen joined the Methodist Church in Danbury. He married Dorothy Lorraine Weathers of Anthon on December 18, 1926, at Vermillion, South Dakota. Their entire married life was spent in this vicinity, where Mr. White engaged in farming. A great lover of music, he played in orchestras and bands for many years and had an orchestra of his own a long time. It was through playing at dances in this territory that Lester gained such a wide circle of friends. Survivors include his widow, Dorothy, three daughters, Evelyn, Helen and Lorraine, a son, Harold, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. White of Correctionville, two brothers, Clair and Merle, a sister, Maxine and host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon from the Anthon Methodist Church with Rev. F.G. Grantham of Smithland, preaching the sermon, while Rev. F.O. Johnson, the local pastor, assisted with last rites. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Hudgel Funeral Service.
