His death was not expected, though he was up and around that day before and express ed himself as feeling better than usual. He had been a sufferer a i little over a year from dropsy and much of that time was bedfast. The best medical skill failed to restore him, and he gave up to the germ destroyer after a valiant struggle, in the very prime of his life. He leaves a wife and 5 children, the eldest son being nearly arrived at his majority. The deceased was universally liked and respected by his neighbors and was a worthy citizen and business man. His whole life has been one of earnest, busy endeavor, and toil in his favorite business of milling. The funeral was conducted from the house, under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, on Sunday afternoon. It has pleased Almighty God, in His Devine wisdom, to remove from us our beloved brother, Thomas L Hallam, who died on the 7th day of May, 1886.
