Description	:	THE MCBBIDE FAMILY by Robert Daniel McBride 1922 (2) Thomas was born Sept. 2, 1855. He went with his parents to Menasha Wis. and in Apr.1877 he went to Roberts Ill. where he worked for his uncle Joel Westbrook during the summer. There he contracted "fever and ague" so went to Nebr., arriving at Lowell Oct.12,1877, after having "been robbed by every train conductor west of the Mississippi River". During the first of Feb. 1878 he filed on some land just west of that of his father on Ft. Farm Island; and proved up on the same...
