Description	:	"On the 9th, J. W. Rush received a telegram from J. J. VanMeter, of Norton county, informing him of the death of Richard Spickelmire, at Whitman, Neb. His parents came from Iowa and settled in Rawlins county in 1879; his father was buried in the Achilles cemetery in 1880. He has a mother and two sisters still living in Rawlins county who have the heartfelt sympathy of all old friends, as Dick was respected and loved by all." -Oberlin Herald (Oberlin, Kansas), 12-Nov-1896 Marker not found.
