Description	:	THOMAS RICHARD MORGAN SR. Thomas Richard Morgan Sr., 52, of Hughesville, formerly of Mechanicsville, died on Jan. 12, 1998 at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda. Bom on April 8, 1945 in Leonardtown, he was the son of Carroll Richard Morgan and Mary Madeline Wathen Morgan. He was the companion of Faye Burroughs. He was the father of Thomas R. “Ricky” Morgan Jr. of Mechanicsville. He was the brother of Catherine Alvey, Ralph Francis Morgan, Carroll Webster Morgan and Charles L. He was the father of Thomas R. “Ricky” Morgan Jr. of Mechanicsville. He was the brother of Catherine Alvey, Ralph Francis Morgan, Carroll Webster Morgan and Charles L. Morgan all of Mechanicsville and Joseph Wayne Morgan of Lusby. He was also survived by a grandchild, Jacqueline Morgan. Mr. Morgan graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1962. He joined the United States Army on Sept. 13, 1965. He served in the Vietnam War and was discharged on Aug. 30,1967. While in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal. Mr. Morgan worked as a mason in Southern Maryland for 20 years until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Mechanicsville Moose Lodge 495, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2632 in California. He was also an avid outdoor sportsman. Friends may call at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown today, Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., with prayers said at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial Will be celebrated tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Lexington Park with Rev. Neal Ward as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Wathen, Dale Dunstan, Donald Morgan, Lewis Morgan, Cecil Norris and Russell Quade.
