Description	:	Thomas “Tom” R. Hartford, 92, of Kearney, NE, formerly of Albion, NE, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Kearney, NE. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE with Rev. Mary Avidano officiating. Inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion. Thomas “Tom” Richard Hartford, son of Harrison and Mabel (Fitzsimmons) Hartford, was born on April 15, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, NE. Tom attended elementary school near Primrose, NE and graduated from Primrose High School with the class of 1943. On March 3, 1945, Tom was inducted into the U.S. Army. During his service time he met and was married to Betty Lou McBride in Albion, NE. Following his honorable discharge on December 26, 1946, the couple lived outside of Primrose where Tom farmed. He later met Donna (Cudaback) Marcus and was united in marriage to her on August 1992 in Kearney. Tom loved his family, his farm, and living on Lake Sherman near Kearney. He especially loved to boat, fish, and enjoyed grilling Nebraska steaks while being with his family and friends. He was happiest though when he was operating equipment around the farm and at other jobsites. Having a deep love for his country, Tom was very proud of his military service. Tom belonged to the Methodist faith, and was a member of the Shriners and Masons for many years. Tom is survived by his wife: Donna Marcus Hartford of Kearney, NE; son: Tom (Kelly) Hartford Jr. of Cibolo, TX; daughter: Vicki Laskowski of Kearney, NE; five grandchildren: Capt. Jordan (Brooke) Laskowski of Holly Ridge, NC; Barry (Jolene) Teeple of Grand Junction, CO; Dr. Ashley (Brian) Hopkins of Austin, TX; Jason Hartford of England; Rachel Hartford of Milford, OH; three great-grandchildren: Wyatt Hopkins and Gideon Hopkins of Austin, TX; Emmett Teeple of Grand Junction, CO; sister-in-law: Ruth Hartford of Loretto, NE; brother-in-law: Andy Schick of North Platte, NE; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Betty Lou Hartford; son: Dr. James Hartford; two brothers: Bill Hartford and Bob Hartford; five sisters: Irene Loeffler; Mildred Douty; Darlene Schick; Marge Taylor; Dorothy Ostendorf; and mother-in-law: Ruth McBride.
