Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Hudgel's Funeral Home of Anthon. Tom R.T. Maddison, 76, a pioneer resident of Anthon passed away Sunday morning at his home after an illness of several months. He was born August 28, 1869, on the Wandon estate near Chatton, England. When eleven years he came to Iowa with his parents, Captain and Mrs. R.T. Maddison. In 1880 the family settled on the farm two miles east of Anthon, still operated by a brother, G.B. Maddison, Sr. He married Phyllis Taylor of Stayner, Ontario, Canada, on March 21, 1906. To them one son was born. He retired from active farming in 1920 and moved to Anthon where he established the Maddison dairy. He was a charter member of the Anthon Methodist Church. He was active and faithful as an official of this church throughout the years, serving as Sunday school superintendent for twenty years and on the official board of the church from the time of its organization. Survivors include the widow, son, R.W., three grandchildren, two sisters, Ada and Nina Maddison, two brothers, John of Sheridan, Montana, and Gilbert of Anthon.
