Perry of Ames were held Nov 6 at the Adams Funeral home in Ames, Iowa. The Reverend Henry A. Mr. Perry was born on April 9, 1890, in Selma , Calif. the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Perry. He graduated from Lime Springs High School and from Iowa State University in 1915 with a degree in civil engineering. He was an engineer for a private concern in Toledo and Sate Center and had served as assistant engineer and county engineer for Howard County from 1917 to 1920. He was assistant district engineer in Mason City for the Iowa Highway Commission before going to Ames in 1923. He was assistant maintenance engineer with the highway commission for 33 years before retiring in 1955. Mr. Perry was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational. He was a veteran of World War 1, a member of the Nevada Lodge 99 AF and AM, Scottish Rite bodies of Des Moines, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, Story County Shrine Club, National Society of Professional Engineers - Anson Marston Chapter, American Assoc of Retired Persons and Ames Post 37 of the American Legion. He married Lucy Clark on Feb 2, 1921. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Madge Fish, and his wife, who died Feb 6, 1968. Mr. Perry is survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Jean Muse of Chiowa, Nebraska; three brothers, Chester Perry of Lime Springs, Leslie and Harry Perry both of Cresco; three sisters, Helen Richards of Bowmansville, N.Y. and Edith Miller and Florence McAvinchey, both of Flint, Michigan. Among those attending the funeral, were friends and relatives from Sumner, North English, Cedar Falls, Cresco, Ames, Riceville, Rochester, MN, Chiowa, Neb and Flint, MI.
