Online condolences can be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com Tom was born on December 30, 1946 at Cherokee, Iowa to Virgil & Lucille (Simmons) Samuelson. He graduated from Willow High School in 1965. He then attended the University of Iowa and Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa. Tom was married to Bonnie Akkerman on September 16, 1972 at Rock Rapids, Iowa. He had farmed for several years, worked at Brown Auto Supply, Vern Anderson Implement, the YES Center, and at C.C.U.S.O., retiring in July of 2013. He was a member of the Quimby United Methodist Church. Tom belonged to the Quimby Golf Club, where he loved to golf, and was a volunteer greenskeeper, helped with the mowing and anything else that needed to be done. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeannine Janssen, sister-in-law Connie Samuelson, nephew Robert Samuelson, brother-in-law Glen Blum, and niece Michelle Blum. He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Quimby, Iowa; daughter Wendy Samuelson of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers: Douglas Samuelson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mike (Deb) Samuelson of Cleghorn, Iowa; sister-in-law Carol (Vince) Luitjens of George, Iowa; brother-in-law Harold (Ruby) Janssen of Sibley, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.
