March ll, 1990, at his home at Leisure Living Apt. 2 in Fremont. He was born May 7, 1917, in Ottumwa to William Wesley and Bertha Louisa Anthony Bigg. He married Evie Guthrie on Sept. 1, 1940. He was a precision tool grinder for 25 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Ottumwa Masonic Lodge 16 AF and AM, Davenport Consistory KAABA Shrine, Ottumwa Shrine Club, Ottumwa Consistory Club, Order of Eastern Star Rose Chapter 552 and OB Nelson Post 3 of the American Legion. He had served in World War II with the Navy. He is survived by his wife; a son, Dr. William Leroy Bigg of Eureka, Calif.; a daughter, Margaret Louise Ruby of Ottumwa; a granddaughter; greatgranddaughter; and four sisters, Katherine Diedrick, Norma McNabb, Lois Bigg and Maxine Pierce of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Mace and Edith Ream; three brothers, Walter, John and Edward Bigg , and a grandson. Masonic services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home, conducted by Ottumwa Lodge 16 AF and AM. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial has been established to Fremont Rescue Unit.
