Read More	The Tipton Conservative, June 7, 1911, Page 5 WILLIAMS Thomas Williams, the son of Loveless and Rachel Williams was born in Holmes county Ohio, September 5, 1842 where he spent his early childhood. In the early fifties the family removed to Iowa and settled on a farm in Red Oak township. Here Thomas William grew to manhood and in 1866 he was united in marriage with Miss Eliza McCracken. Shortly after their marriage they settled on a farm in Red Oak township where they continued to reside until they removed to Tipton a number of years ago to lead a quiet life and enjoy the rest they had earned. Only one child was born to bless this union, Irene, who became the wife of Asa Dorcas and who with her husband remained upon the old homestead. Mr. Williams was a man of marked individuality. While not an educated man, he had plenty of good sound sense, had his opinions on all subjects and was free to express them. He was a public spirited citizen and contributed liberally when calls were made upon him. He was a kind and obliging neighbor, ever ready to help those who might need his assistance. He was a kind husband and father and carefully cared for those who were dependent upon him. While possessing a rugged constitution, his years had begun to weigh upon him and his health was suffering a decline. On Monday evening May 30 he had been down town as usual and seemed to be feeling quite well as he conversed with friends in a cheerful manner. About 9 o'clock he started for home but failed to arrive at the house and at a late hour his wife went to the barn to look for him and found him cold in death. It seems that he had meant to go through the barn as he often did before retiring to see that his horse was all right and was stricken with heart failure shortly after entering and expired shortly thereafter. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and one daughter and other kindred, besides a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at the late home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in charge of Rev. Christie and the remains were laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery.
