Description	:	Thordis Moi Bultena, formerly of Rapid City, SD, died September 10, at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis. Her life ended peacefully after enduring for several years both Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Mrs. Bultena was born April 25, 1918, in Decorah, IA, to Henry Moi and Inger Tomine (Minnie) Skeisvold Moi, both of whom were Norwegian immigrants. Her life ended peacefully after enduring for several years both Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease. Mrs. Bultena was born April 25, 1918, in Decorah, IA, to Henry Moi and Inger Tomine (Minnie) Skeisvold Moi, both of whom were Norwegian immigrants. As a young girl, she moved with her parents to Hudson, SD, where her father was a blacksmith. Following graduation from Hudson High School, she attended Augustana College, where she obtained her teaching certificate in 1937. She later earned a bachelor's degree from Black Hills State University, where she also completed graduate level course work. She taught elementary school in Colton, Lennox, Huron, and Rapid City. On October 22, 1947, she married John L. Bultena in Lennox, SD. The couple lived in Huron until moving to Rapid City in 1962. Mrs. Bultena was a long-time member of South Canyon Lutheran Church before moving to the Twin Cities in 1998, where she became a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. She was active in all manner of church activities, and in the 1950s while living in Huron, produced and hosted a weekly Lutheran church women's radio broadcast. She also was active in various educational and teacher's organizations. Second only to her love for her family was her love for the teaching profession and the innumerable students whose lives she touched during a teaching career that spanned over 40 years. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and visiting with friends. There always was an extra place for friends and extended family at the Bultena dinner table or the picnic table on the patio. Survivors include her son, John, his wife, Cindy, and their two children Christopher and Catherine, of Mendota Heights, MN, her daughter Mary Cottam, her husband Keith, and her three children, Asher, Gabe, and Lizzie Albertson, of Casper, WY.
