Somers, well known young business man of this city, died in the McCready Hospital last Sunday, following a lingering illness, at the age of 23 years. He had been a patient in the hospital for about five days. Mr. Somers was the son of Mrs. John C. Stephens and Mr. Artie Somers, was born in Crisfield and lived here all his life. He had attended the public schools here, and was a friendly young man who was greatly esteemed by his associates and his long illness and death brought sorrow to relatives and friends alike. He had been a patient in the hospital for about five days. Mr. Somers was the son of Mrs. John C. Stephens and Mr. Artie Somers, was born in Crisfield and lived here all his life. He had attended the public schools here, and was a friendly young man who was greatly esteemed by his associates and his long illness and death brought sorrow to relatives and friends alike. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock in the Bradshaw Funeral Parlors, and attended by a large gathering of relatives and friends. Rev. E. E. Garland, pastor of the Baptist Temple, and Rev. John E. Douglas, pastor of the Church of God, officiated at the ceremonies. Interment was in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Bearers were Vernon Todd, I. T. Todd, Jr., George Luther Todd, Wells Somers, Lorenzo D. Ward and Richard McDorman. He is survived by his mother and father and two sisters, Mrs. John Matthews of Reedville, N.C., and Mrs. Gordon T.
